The Swedish founded fintech company Qred has appointed Per Widerström as its new chairman of the board. Widerström is also CEO of Fortuna Entertainment Group, a board member at Nordnet and Catena Media, as well as the chairman at Turbotic. Former chairman Sean Cory will remain on the board as a member of the board.

Stockholm, 20 January, 2022 - Qred has since its launch in 2015 helped over 25,000 companies through providing simple and flexible financing to small businesses and is the market leader in the Nordics. Nordic Capital joined as an investor last year, with the aim to further expand the business. Per Widerström was elected as Qred’s new chairman of the board during an additional general meeting on 21 December 2021.

“Qred is a very interesting and fast growing company in a dynamic sector. I’m really looking forward to working together with the Qred team and the board in regards to the company’s future growth journey with a focus on offering great financial solutions to our current and future customers”, says Per Widerström, chairman of the board at Qred.

“Per Widerström’s passion for the tech industry, extensive expertise and broad experience in fast growing organizations will make him a brilliant chairman," says Emil Sunvisson, CEO of Qred.

In addition to the new chairman, Qred’s board was extended by two new board members; Joakim Lundvall and David Samuelson, Partner and Principal at Nordic Capital Advisors. Thomas Jansson, one of the company's founders and a board member since its inception, is leaving the board. Jansson will continue as Chief Growth Officer and focus on the strategic development of the company's business. The change means that Qred's board seats will increase from five to seven, of which one will be taken by former chairman Sean Cory.
